Just about every May, I sit down to write Homeward Bound; I write about Mom’s Day. And why not… it is a very special day for every special people.Verify my mortgage eligibility (May 16th, 2022)
My Mom used to tell me, seemingly repeatedly, to do this and do that, not to do this, and not to do that. ALL, I recall very valuable advice. Looking back on it all these many years later, I can say she was and still is, a very wise woman.
Mother’s Day is celebrated to honor mothers and women who have brought peace and progress to the world. It serves as a reminder of what mothers do for us. Even though we are able to – and definitely should – spoil our mothers on any day throughout the year, setting aside a special day gives us an excuse to express our highest gratitude.
So here is a shout-out to all Moms – Happy Mother’s Day!!Verify my mortgage eligibility (May 16th, 2022)
Mothers make the world go ’round. Need proof? According to a study released by the Center for Global Development, women took on an additional 173 hours of childcare in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, compared to an extra 59 hours for men in the household. Not to mention, according to Gallup, women already have primary responsibility for laundry, cleaning, and cooking. To the surprise of pretty much no one, moms do it all. And for all they do, they’re celebrated just one day out of the year, on Mother’s Day.
Whether you are able to celebrate in person or will connect through phone calls or video chats, let’s show our moms, grandmothers, and the other maternal figures in our lives that we care.

We do that by donating a portion of our income from home sales to this very worthy cause.
Right now, there are kids at CHLA who are trying to beat the Cancer Monster and other nasty debilitating diseases. Children’s is one of the best non-profit hospitals at treating kids, even leading the way in early diagnosis of autism and recovery of spinal cord injury. The Moms with kids being treated at Children’s are most likely NOT thinking about their special day this month. They are simply just being “Mom” doing what a real loving Mom does. God bless them for it.Show me today's rate (May 16th, 2022)
